BlueGen Qualifies for UK Feed-In Tariff

26/08/2011

Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited has announced that its BlueGen® micro-combined heat and power (micro-CHP) fuel cell system has received final accreditation from the UK's Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). This means that BlueGen customers in the UK now qualify for the Government's feed-in tariff and will be paid 10.5 pence per kilowatt hour of electricity generated, plus an additional 3.1 pence per kilowatt hour of electricity exported to the grid.

BlueGen is the first fuel cell product to be eligible for this incentive. It can be fuelled from existing natural gas supply and produces hot water for domestic use in addition to electricity. Fuel cells in this application are significantly more energy efficient than grid electricity, providing further incentive to customers.
