Woodfuel is a low-carbon, reliable fuel which qualifies for payments from the government under the Renewable Heat Incentive, allowing organisations to earn an income from heat generation.
Businesses can apply for investment to install biomass boilers of 100kW or above. The investment comes from CO2Sense, the not-for-profit low carbon expert company.
Joanne Pollard, Chief Executive of CO2Sense, said, “CO2Sense has already invested around £200,000 in new biomass installations this year, and we are now looking to help even more organisations make the switch to woodfuel. With payments under the RHI now confirmed, using woodfuel for heat is an excellent alternative to traditional fuels.”
Investment from CO2Sense does not have to be repaid until the installation is earning payments and making cost savings. Once it is repaid to CO2Sense, it is re-invested in more woodfuel installations, creating a self sustaining, green investment fund.
The deadline for applications is 30th September 2011. Those interested should contact Jan Phillips on 0113 237 8416 or jan.phillips@co2sense.co.uk
