The Green Electrician has beaten the August feed-in tariff deadline with six private farm installations totalling 714kWp, installing over 3,700 panels in just three months.
The installations, all above 80kWp, ranged from ground mounted systems to split roof. The largest single roof completed was a 140kWp system for salad grower PDM Produce near Newport, whilst the largest overall installation was a 194kWp solar PV system split over two poultry sheds for Carbon Earth owner, Mark Gethin. This system now ranks among the largest privately owned systems in the UK and largest in Shropshire.
Running closest to the deadline was a 100kWp ground mounted system for a farmer near Shrewsbury. "We put in some long days and work to ensure we finished this on time," said Stephen Davies, sales manager. "We commissioned the system on Thursday 28th July, the farmer was delighted and possibly quite relieved. Customer satisfaction means everything to us as a business and this means a high standard of work whilst achieving deadlines at the same time.
