Staffordshire University promotes Green Energy Internships
STAFFORDSHIRE University is actively seeking companies in the Renewable Energy sector to take part in a new development project.
The internship scheme allows for companies to use the skills of highly qualified graduates to advance and develop the company. Lasting initially four weeks, the internships will be built in partnership with the host company around a key development project.
Rob McKay, Client Manager within Staffordshire University’s Business School, said: “Many renewable energy companies are small, but highly dynamic and fast-growing businesses. Our graduate interns can work on a core business issue – such as researching new market opportunities, or working on bids and tenders – where some additional skilled capacity can make all the difference.
“As part of our commitment to supporting the development of this sector, we are able to fund 80% of the costs of hosting an intern, meaning the company is able to gain this valuable expertise and assistance for just £200.”
The scheme has been created to help companies working in the renewable energies and low carbon sector to tackle activities such as:
· Researching overseas markets
· Evaluating and improving internal processes
· Creating a marketing strategy
· Developing an investment case for a new project
· Developing HR procedures and policy
Rob added: “As much as any sector, Renewable Energy is a knowledge-driven activity, and depends for its future on skilled and experienced staff. By assisting graduates gain valuable experience companies are investing not just in immediate returns, but the long-term future of the experience.”
