Establishing reliable data based on rigorous consideration of all the renewable energy opportunities open to the county is seen as a key part of developing planning policy and informing the development of the council’s LDF documents.
The study involved a comprehensive review of all renewable options from solar PV and thermal to ground and air source heat pumps, wind, biomass, hydro, tri generation and hydrogen. Based on its findings, Wardell Armstrong will propose renewable energy targets, develop scenarios of possible options and draft the renewables section of the LDF core strategy.
