BUSINESSES in the Black Country, Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and Hereford are set to benefit from a new £3.4m innovation scheme that will see the creation of two specialist centres providing support and technology ideas to boost their performance.
Based at Wolverhampton Science Park and the Telford Campus of the University of Wolverhampton, 450 businesses key to the economic development of the Wolverhampton to Telford Technology Corridor area will get the chance to take part in the Innovation First project by visiting two refurbished centres.
There they will see, feel and explore new technological ideas designed to improve their business performance. Specialist advice will also be on hand offering them help taking their ideas forward.
The project is supported by over £1.7m from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and matched by the University of Wolverhampton and the private sector. The first Centre at Telford is due to be completed by the end of July.
