Plans are now taking shape for the new network of elite technology and innovation centres, a major investment in UK innovation which was announced in October 2010. The Technology Strategy Board will establish and oversee these world-class centres of excellence, and an initial prospectus has now been published.
The prospectus describes our initial proposals for the objectives, role, governance and funding for the technology and innovation centres, and identifies potential areas of technology. The first centre will focus on high value manufacturing.
To make the most of the technology and innovation centres opportunity, we need the views of business and academia .We welcome feedback on the proposals and potential technology areas, as well as suggestions for an appropriate name for the network, by the 18th February.
